Karl Meerbergen obtained his PhD at KU Leuven in 1996, worked at LMS International (now Siemens) between 1996 and 1998 and at Free Field Technologies (now Hexagone) between 2000 and 2006. Since 2006, he is professor at the department of Computer Science of KU Leuven. His expertise is on numerical matrix for large scale matrices, in particular, eigenvalue problems and model order reduction, and has contributed to numerical methods for the analysis of vibrations.
